Welcome to My Home - Let's Get Started on Things that are Long Overdue

I'm a writer in my bones, and I'm long overdue for this.  I'd like to welcome you to my home - to my thoughts, to my conscience, to the things I need to say and have to say and the amazing way I can tie every action in our lives back to public education.

Do you believe me?  

Oh, how I hope you don't.  Oh, how I hope you're so skeptical that you'll tag along just to see me falter.  Oh, how I hope if for some reason I skip a beat, I miss a step, I screw up royally or even just ever so slightly, you'll call me on it.

Comment.  Especially those of you who are brilliant out there.  I'm waiting to find you and waiting to show you the world through my eyes.  The eyes that are looking at you right now.  Wondering who you are.  Wondering if you'll find this.  Wondering if you'll find it compelling enough to stay.

In my personal opinion, what else is more compelling than the topic of public education?

Hang in there.  I'll show you a side you've never seen before.  I'll take you down paths you didn't know existed.  And you'll become a believer.  You'll begin to ROAR right along with me.  

There are things I love and things I'm done with on this road on which I travel.  Things I'll never do again, and things I repeat because I either just repeat the damn things or because there seems to be no other alternative.  Yet.  

Here are a few blanket conditions that I'll probably put somewhere else later.  For now, they'll go here.

1.  This is mine.  Completely mine.  It does not have one thing to do with anyone for whom I work, and if it appears to involve people or topics about my work, it is by coincidence only.  As I'm starting this, I'm working FOUR jobs.  You can bet that my work is separate from this.  

2.  I am a liberal Southern belle.  I can cuss like a sailor, and I fight harder than you'd ever believe if you were to see me.  

3.  I have vulnerabilities, and you'll learn them as we go along.  You may not learn them directly from me.  You may have to point them out to me. 

4.  I have strengths that I'm not yet aware of and abilities that I plan to discover right here in front of you.

5.  I am everything you see in my logo.  Here, you're going to be front and center as I allow the best of those qualities to show.  

Thanks for making it this far.  Thanks for your patience as this slowly becomes my vision.
